Huntsville, AL ? Marion Howard Christian, 84, went to be with our Lord and Savior Sunday, March 4th, 2012 following a heroic battle with cancer. Mr. Christian was a retired MSgt U.S. Air Force where he spent 21 Years-9 Months-7 Days in service to our country. He was born and raised in Auburn Community, located east of Tupelo Mississippi, where he lived until joining the Navy Reserves while attending Mississippi State University; from which he earned a Bachelor?s Degree in Agricultural Studies. Upon completion of his degree, Marion joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a crew chief for both B-52 and KC-135 aircraft.
A Memorial service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Huntsville, AL on Wednesday March 7th at 3:00 p.m. Graveside services with military honors will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Auburn Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons; Paul and Victor Christian both of Huntsville, AL; daughter Diana Rowell of Huntsville; Sister Hazel Kruger; brother-in-law Albert Kruger; Daughter-in-law Valerie Christian; 5 grand kids; 3 ½ great-grand kids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Elene Lewis Christian, his wife Ruth Christian, grandson Jonathan Miles Christian, two brothers Hubert and Walter Christian and a sister Lucille Bolin.
Pallbearers will be from the U.S. Air Force Base in Columbus Mississippi, from which Marion was stationed during his service.
Visitation will be from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.
