Tupelo - Marie N. Wiggins, , passed away Saturday, March 24, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center. Marie was born, October 28,1926, in Smithville to Fred Nabors and Aura Summerford Nabors. She was a longtime educator for 40 years in at Joyner Elementary in Tupelo and in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Marie was a charter member at Parkway Baptist Church before becoming a member of First Baptist Church of Tupelo. She enjoyed doing volunteer work including many years at Good Samaritan Clinic and to play bridge with her friends. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Rick Wiggins (Linda) of Brentwood, Tennessee; one daughter, Cyndi Wood of Mooreville; special friend and caretaker, Merle Claunch of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Jamie Wiggins of Brentwood, Tennessee, Leigh Ray (Bobby) of Guntown and Melanie Wood of Mooreville; 3 great-grandchildren, Max Ray of Guntown, Gus Ray of Guntown and Tarley Wood of Mooreville; sister-in-law, Marilyn Nabors of Smithville; one nephew, Fred Nabors; one niece Susan Harlow.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Bill Wiggins; one brother, Thomas Nabors; one sister, Harriet McCord.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with by Bro. Matthew Powell officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Jim Harris, Millard Clark, Boyce Shelton, James Hall, Bobby Simmons and Errol Tootle.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Dr. Jerry Moore's Sunday School Class.
