Marietta - Auga Marie Frederick, 74, died Sunday, August 10, 2008, in the Bay Springs Lake area after a sudden illness during her baptismal service. She was born in Sulligent, Alabama June 23, 1934, to Sid and Nancy Ledlow. A longtime resident of North Mississippi, she had lived over 15 years in Marietta. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, camping, working crossword puzzles and her pomeraian, Prince. She was a member of Midway Free Will Baptist Church.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Midway Free Will Baptist Church near Marietta with Rev. Danny Shorts officiating. Burial will be in Midway Church Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Willis Frederick, of Marietta; three daughters, Janice Frederick of Mooreville, Kathy Gomez and husband, Ruben, of Nettleton, Sue Davis of Marietta, and Rita Morris and husband, Larry, of Aberdeen; one son, Donald Curry and wife, Joyce, of Saltillo; 14 grandchildren, Brandon Davis, Sonya Diaz, Jennifer Parker, Tonya Valencia, Chris Floyd, David Humphrey, Crystal Morris, Misty Morris, Josh Courtney, Rachel Camacho, Kevin Curry, Alisha Curry, Tracy Curry and Mark Curry; 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Faye Deason and Elvey Randolph; and two brothers, Dopheres Ledlow and Othere Ledlow.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Josh Courtney, David Humphrey, Kevin Curry, Brandon Davis, Jeremy Parker, Mark Curry, and Hugo Valencia.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and will continue Tuesday at the funeral home.
The body will lie in state from noon until service time at the church Wednesday.
