Margaret Jackson Tant, 77, died Thursday, September 20, 2018, after a brief illness at the Community Hospice Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach. A native of Tupelo, she was born June 5, 1941, to Owen Phillip and Mary Nell Jackson. She was a 1959 graduate of Tupelo High School. Margaret was a homemaker most of her life, but had worked as a travel agent at Global Travel Services Inc for several years. Six years ago, she relocated to Fernandina Beach with her son. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Tupelo.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Tant Francis of Tupelo; one son, William Tant of Fernandina Beach; one sister, Phyllis Todd of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two grandchildren, Will Francis and Wes Francis both of Saltillo; and three great-grandchildren, Bryson Francis of Saltillo, Blayklei Brown of Ecru and Wyatt Francis of Saltillo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Martin Coleman Tant who died June 22, 1973.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time, Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Dean Moody officiating. Graveside services will follow in Lee Memorial Park.
