SALTILLO - Margaret Purvis, 44, of the Unity community east of Saltillo, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at her residence after a sudden illness. She was born April 19, 1963, in Lee County to M.H. Lansdell and Clara Mae Williams Lansdell. She was the owner of Hunter's Choice Taxidermist for 15 years and a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. She was a member of N.T.A. and received numerous awards for her work through Wasco and N.T.A. She loved arts and crafts, the outdoors, her family time and was an avid animal lover and loved cake decorating.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the W.E. Pegues Saltillo Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Boutwell officiating. Burial will be in the Beech Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 17 years, James Monroe Purvis of the Unity community; one daughter, Christal Stanford of Saltillo; one son, Andy Purvis of the home; two stepdaughters, Tracy Taylor and Jason of Tupelo and Adriane Purvis of Saltillo; one sister, Christine Betts and Charles of Tupelo; four brothers, Hermon Lansdell and Debbie and Sidney Lansdell and Joan, all of Tupelo, Sammy Lansdell and Alma of Saltillo and Billy Lansdell and Rhonda of Baldwyn; and one stepgrandchild, Ryan Taylor of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Cecil Lansdell.
Pallbearers will be Charles Ray Betts, Glenn Betts, Mike Lansdell, Kevin Lansdell, Chris Lansdell and Phil Lansdell. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Saltillo Chapel.
