MARGARET W. MYATT

Kennesaw, Georgia - Margaret (Peggy) Wilkerson Myatt was born on March 29, 1928 to Jessica Glaze Taylor and Dr. Thaddeus Earl Wilkerson in Johnson City, Tennessee. She graduated from American High School of Chicago, Illinois, and on January 1, 1947, she married Robert (Bob) Lawson Myatt, Jr. of Raleigh, North Carolina. She accompanied her husband on his tours of duty while he was an officer with the U.S. Navy, and after his Naval service ended, they made their home in Kennesaw, Georgia, where she lived until July 2011. She died of natural causes at the Red Bay Hospital in Alabama on September 26, 2013, at the age of 85.

Peggy was baptized as one of Jehovah?s Witnesses in July 1962, and a special focus of her life was the time she spent engaged in Bible education work with various congregations in the Acworth/Kennesaw area. Whenever her circumstances permitted, she devoted an average of 60-90 hours or more a month sharing in this volunteer community work. Peggy was known for her sincere interest in the wellbeing of others, and she is remembered as a generous person who was quick to help people in need.

She is survived by her children, sons Robert L. Myatt III and Jonathan Gentry Myatt and daughters Margaret Myatt and Peggy Malabuyoc, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Thaddeus and sister Jessica.
