Margaret McCollum

MARGARET McCOLLUM Mooreville - Margaret Jean McCollum, 83, died Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks. She was born in Itawamba County on June 20, 1929 to Eugene and Zelda Hankins Walton. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting, plants and especially flowers. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jimmy Hutcheson officiating. Burial will be in West Heights Cemetery in Pontotoc. Survivors include two sons, James McCollum (Cindy) and Roy McCollum (fiancee, Alisha Kizer); one daughter, Avielee Underwood (Curtis); three sisters, Marty Holihan, Gartha Creekmore and Fannie Lee Lackey; eighteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McCollum; four children, Jerry McCollum, Martha Yeager, Andrew Umpfrees and Margarie Fowler and son-in-law, John; four brothers, Otha, Glen, Dale and Theron Walton. Pallbearers will be Dale McGhee, Terry and James McKinney, Eddie Reynolds, Jamie McCollum and Chris Holloway. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the funeral home.
