Mancel E. Robison

MANCEL E. ROBISON Macedonia Community - Mancel E. Robison, 89, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 at his home. He was born to George Green and Amanda Morgan Robison on July 18, 1926. Mancel served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII. He was an owner and operator of a construction business for over fifty years and also worked in cattle farming. A member of the Chesterville Masonic Lodge, Mancel was a 32nd degree Mason. In his earlier years, he served as a Director of a local school and the Lee County Farm Bureau Board. He was recognized as a distinguished citizen by Who's Who in Mississippi in 1974. He was a member and deacon at Macedonia Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday school for many years. Services with military honors will be Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Faulkner officiating. Burial will be at the Macedonia Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survived by his beloved wife, Margurette Brooks Robison; two daughters, Sherry Smith (Jerry) and Vanita Billingsley (Walter); four grandchildren, Courtney Smith Stringer (Matt), Kyle Smith (Summer), Kirk Smith (Heather) and Chip Billingsley; four great-grandchildren, Brayden Smith, Emma Smith Stringer, Coley Smith and Scarlett Smith; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by both his parents; five brothers, Luther, Earnest "Pat", Cleburn, Charles and Noel Robison; six sisters, Velma Robison, Maggie Robison, Cora Gambrell, Nellie Mills Tyra, Millie McCarty and Fannie Wise. Pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Walter Billingsley, Matt Stringer, Kyle Smith, Kirk Smith, Chip Billingsley and Brayden Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Macedonia Baptist Church and his nephews. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church Building Fund, 103 Rd 1966, Tupelo, MS 38804.
