Saltillo - Maggie Mansell, 83, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Home Place in Saltillo after an extended illness. A Saltillo native, she was born to Sidney and Sarah Whitaker Gattis. She was a Baptist. She loved her church, gardening and her grandchildren.
Services will be 7 p.m. Friday at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Martin Jacks officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Robison and her husband, Mike of Guntown; three grandsons, Dan Robison and his wife, Brandy, of Blue Springs, Lee Robison and his wife, Stacy, of Blue Springs and Casey Kieft and his wife, Danielle of Arizona; one granddaughter, Nicole Sarvier and her husband, Roscoe, of Minnesota; five great grandsons, Gage, Brayden, Blake, Cole and Dylan; four great granddaughters, Kenley, Ellie, Paige, Amiah; five brothers, William Henry Gattis, Sidney Gattis and his wife, Wilma, Lawrence F. Gattis, Carl Gattis and his wife, Linda and Melvin Gattis and his wife, Linda; four sisters, Katherine Horton and her husband, Jack, Mary Finney and her husband, Ezra, Ella Faye Turner and Barbara Stanford and her husband, Dalton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Ellis Mansell, one son, Billy Mansell, her parents and six brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Mike Harbison, H. B. Greer, Tim May, Greg Fondren, Hoyle Mansell and Brandon Mansell.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.Thursday and will continue 5 p.m. to service time Friday at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
