Springhill Community - Magdaline "Maggie" Archer Reid, 69, surrounded by her family, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Lee County, she was born March 21, 1949 to Willie T. Archer and Mary Jane Hamilton. Earlier in her life, she worked for Purnell's Pride, Arvin Industries and Steak-N-Eggs in Tupelo for a number of years. She loved caring for her talking birds, "Rebel and Snickers". She enjoyed spending time outside, tending to her flowers and vegetable garden, and going dancing. In addition to having a "green thumb" many would envy, Maggie was also talented in carpentry as she single handedly built several additions to her home. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother who always put her family first. Her affectionate smile and nurturing spirit will be greatly missed. She was a member of Tupelo Church of God.
