MAE STANFORD Saltillo - Mae Stanford, 90, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born in Saltillo on September 24, 1921 to Oscar and Minnie Pearl Sanders Smith. She retired after twenty-five plus years of service as a seamstress from Reed's Manufacturing. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Saltillo. She loved working with her flowers, and keeping her yard. She loved singing and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Merle Floyd officiating with a graveside service to follow at the Saltillo Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Shelby Hankins and Linda Davis (David), both of Saltillo; four grandchildren, Wendell Hankins (Debbie), Rita Loden (Andy), Karen Hill (Dewayne), and Kenny Hankins (Rhonda), all of Saltillo; nine great-grandchildren, Felecia Levitt, Kristian Joshlin, Bethany Bishop, Marci and Jarrett Hill, Kaitlyn, Hannah and Andrew Hankins and Lexi Loden; five great-great grandchildren, Ava, Addi and Georgia Joshlin and Tristan and Austin Thornton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Guy Stanford; her parents and her step-father, Benjamin Smith; six sisters; one brother; one son-in-law, G.L. Hankins. Pallbearers will be Wendell Hankins, Kenny Hankins, Dewayne Hill, Andy Loden, Chris Joshlin, Levi Bishop and Nate Jones. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
