Tupelo - Mable Virginia Pannell, 85, died Friday, February 20, 2009, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Lee County native and life long resident, she was born May 29, 1923. She was married to Eulon Rowell Pannell who died Jan. 19, 1973. Earlier in her life, she worked a number of years for Long's Laundry Service in Tupelo. She enjoyed watching television and was an avid fan of The Price is Right. She was a member of Brewer United Methodist.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. John McAlister and Rev. Danny Roper officiating. Burial will be in Brewer Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Pam Patterson of Mooreville; one son, Steve Pannell and wife, Brenda, of Belden; her sister, Zadie Webb and husband, Rex, of the Minneapolis/ St. Paul, Minnesota area; nine grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Stephanie Pannell, Timmy and Jimmy Patterson, Robert Patterson and wife, Melinda, Wayne Tackett and wife, Shelly, Telisha Webb and husband, Blaine, Johnny Martin and wife, Tammy, and Chris Ellis; numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eulon Pannell; her daughter, Brenda Smith; her granddaughter, Tammy Tackett; three brothers, Ruble, Charlie, and Cyrel Walker; and two sisters, Lillian Temple and Mary Lee Schumpert. .
Pallbearers will be Timmy Patterson, Jimmy Patterson, Robert Patterson, Wayne Tackett, Johnny Martin, Chris Ellis, and Blaine Webb.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
