M. Jeanette Dillard

Tupelo - Margaret Jeanette Dillard, 67, died Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Millington Health Care Facility in Millington, Tennessee. She was born May 23, 1948, to Maurice Dewitt "Buddy" Edwards and Margaret Virginia Mangrum Edwards. A graduate of Watkins Overton High School, she then went on to Memphis State University on a band scholarship where she played the clarinet. Jeanette loved being with her and her husband's family and was a Methodist by faith. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Brandon Dillard officiating. Burial will be in Ingomar Cemetery. Survivors include her mother Margaret Edwards of Millington; father, Buddy Edwards and step-mother Meg of North Carolina; three brothers, Michael Edwards, Richard Edwards of Drummonds, Tennessee, and David Anthony Edwards; step-children, Melissa Dillard, Rocky Dillard, Michael Dillard and Corey Dillard; several nieces and nephews including Jennifer Ann Mathis (Shawn) of South Korea and Kevin Lee Edwards (Morgan) of Memphis. She was preceded in death by Leighton Dillard, her husband of 25 years and one step-son Leighton Dillard, Jr. Pallbearers will be Richard Edwards, David Edwards, Rocky Dillard, Kevin Edwards, Mark Edwards, and Mike Edwards.
