LUTHER COX



Saltillo - Luther L. Cox, 97, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at his residence. A Burnsville native, he was born August 30, 1915, to Oliver C. and Birdie Henry Cox. He was in construction all his working life. He was a very avid fan of racing and wrestling. He loved his family, grandchildren and his dog Sophia. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Saltillo.



Services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Mr. Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial services will follow at Liberty Cemetery in McNairy County, Tennessee.



Survivors include one daughter, Frances Pearson (Billy)of Saltillo; two sons, Freddie Cox of Saltillo and Marvin Cox (Ann) of Saltillo; one sister, Birdie Luck of Jackson Tennessee; one brother, Celcil Cox; ten grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Rosetta Cox; one infant son; two great-grandchildren; his parents.



Pallbearers will be Jonathan and Marty Cox, Coty Payne, Jeff Jackson, Scott George, and Arlie Henry.



Visitation will be 5 - 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at the funeral home.
