Oak Hill - Nola Lucille Lucy Hardin, 79, died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident, she was born November 9, 1930, to William Clarence and Nola Mae Adderholt Cantrell. She was a retired sales representative for Aflac Insurance Company after 26 years of employment. She took great pride and dedication in taking care of her policy holders, treating them as she would her family. She loved her special time spent with family and grandchildren. She was a member of Oak Hill Methodist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Donnie Riley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Shipp (Dan) of Starkville, Pam Coward (Kevin) of Tupelo and Melode "Dee Dee" Smith (Stanley) of Saltillo; two sisters-in-law, Clara Cantrell and Frances Cantrell, both of Saltillo; six grandchildren, Daniel Shipp (Laura) of Nashville, Tenn., Bethany Shipp of Orlando, Fla., Ashley Coward and Kara Beth Coward, both of Tupelo and Will Wells and Noah Wells, both of Saltillo.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Roberta McGruff and Cleo Sigler; and two brothers, Clarence "Hoppy" Cantrell and Preston Cantrell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Cantrell, David Cantrell, and Mike Sigler.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
