Lucille Tomlinson

Tupelo - Lucille Holley Tomlinson, 80, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Tippah County native, she was born July 28, 1928 to Ezra and Rettie Skinner Holley. She was married for 52 years to Holmes Tomlinson who died March 31, 1998. She and her family lived in numerous states, settling in Tupelo in 1962. She enjoyed meeting new people, playing bridge and traveling. She was quite fond of the dog Jack. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Roberta Stacey Ladies Bible Class.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Steve Hurt and Rev. David Eldridge officiating. Graveside services will 1:30 p.m. be in Providence Cemetery near Tiplersville.

Survivors include two daughters, Judie Tomlinson of Memphis, Tenn. and Joy Tomlinson of Tupelo; two sisters, Ara Hopper of Ripley and Oleta Ann Dillinger (Willie) of Walnut; lifelong special friends, Harold and Peggy Grissom and their family of Baldwyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her infant son, James Ronnie Tomlinson; her sister, Eva Hopper; and her brother J B Holley.

Pallbearers will be Harold Grissom, Hal Grissom, Brian Grissom, Aubrey Hayes, Jackie Dillinger, Mike Drewery and Kenneth Drewery

Honorary Pallbearers will be the ladies of the Roberta Stacey Bible Study Class.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
