LUCILLE M. JENKINS
Tupelo - Lucille Mills Jenkins, 100, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief Illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident, she was born October 9, 1906 to the late John Wiley and Fannie Homan Mills. She had worked at the Columbus Air Force Base during World War II as a saleslady and later worked for North Mississippi Medical Center from which she retired after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed doing things for others people and taking care of the elderly. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Gayle Alexander and Rev. Randy Von Kanel officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Survivors include her brother, Milton Mills and wife, Laverne,of Pontotoc; her nieces, Martha Mitchell and husband Therman, of Okolona and Diane Cotton and husband, James, of the Auburn Community; five nephews, Ronnie Mills of Pontotoc, Jimmy Patterson and wife, Janelle, Hal Patterson and Bonnie, all of Okolona, Paul Patterson, of Eunice, NM, and Mike Mills of Tupelo; several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinton Lee Jenkins; two sisters, Annie Mae Patterson and Hortense Sullivan; and one brother, Marvin Mills.
Pallbearers will be John Raymond Patterson, Ronnie Mills, Dennis Crockett, Scott Mitchell, Michael Foster, and Scottie Crockett.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
