Plantersville - Lucille Young Culver, 84, died Monday, January 30, 2012, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. A Nettleton native, she was born March 18, 1927 to William Pruitt and Lilly Pearl Berryhill Young and was a lifelong resident of the Lee County area. At the age of 67 she retired from Lane Furniture in Verona, after 20 years of service. She loved working in her yard, was an avid animal enthusiast and she especially loved taking care of her pet dogs. She was a member of the Baptist church. She was affectionately known as "mama" to her children and "nanny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. John (Ben) Raper officiating. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters; Peggy Shaver of Plantersville and Nancy Lyle (Dennis) of Olive Branch; one son, Timothy Culver of Plantersville; one sister, Polly Fowler of Nettleton; two brothers, Jimmy Young (Sandra) of Nettleton and Billy Young (Joan) of the Skyline Community; four grandchildren, Shilo Carr of Booneville, Randi Carter of Olive Branch, Lori Holliday and Chris Culver of Alabama and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Robert "Buck" Young; one son, Gerald Culver. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
