Lucille “Cell” Homer
Saltillo- Lucille “Cell” Homer, at the age of 89, died Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Diversicare in Tupelo. She was born April 29, 1932. She was one of the seven children of Ed Homer and Gracie Dunaway Homer. After her mother’s heath fail, she became a full time caretaker. After her mother’s death she took care of her sister, Genell Lester. She enjoyed spending time outdoors especially gardening flowers and fishing. She loved her family and adored spending time with her nieces and nephews. Cell enjoyed hosting family reunions and time with each member of the family. She is a member of Mayfield Church of Christ Church.
Survivors include her numerous nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Cell is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Agnes Wheeler (Johnny), Pauline Bell (Olin), Earlene Thrasher (Jack), Genell Lester (Cemouse), Bobby Homer, and R. D. Homer.
Visitation will be 4 until 9 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021 W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues. Burial will follow in Euclatubba Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Raines, Logan Hendricks, Scott Palmer, Jackie Thrasher, and John Ellward.
