Belden – Lucile Kitchens Lacy, 89, a lifelong resident of Mississippi, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 5, 2018. She died peacefully in her home with Kenneth, her son and loving caretaker over the last 6 years at her bedside. Mrs. Lacy was born in Lexington on January 10, 1929 to the late Carol and Mercie Kitchens.
Mrs. Lacy was retired from South Central Bell for whom she worked for 27 years.
She enjoyed many things over her life including sewing, crocheting, reading, working in her yard, playing Bridge, country music and dancing. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was time with her family. She was a loving influence on her 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was a member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church for many years.
A time of visitation with family will be 11 until service time Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 2 p.m. at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues.
Survivors include her sons, Tim Lacy (Jeannie) of Colombiana, Alabama, and Kenneth Lacy of Oxford, Mississippi, and her grandchildren Grace, Sarah, Myers, Erik, Patrick, Chip, Lacy and Austin, and her sister Carolyn Roberts of Moorhead, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Travis M. Lacy, her daughter Janet Lacy Monroe, and two brothers, Elroy and C. B. Kitchens.
