LOUNELL HARLOW

Mantachie - Lounell Harlow Powell, 82, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A native of Wren, she was born January 21, 1925 to the late John Henry and Evie Sprinkle Hood. She was employed for 38 years in a garment factory, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed flower gardening, cross stitching, and her church. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was a member of Shiloh Southern Baptist Church.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Henry Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Repult and husband, Bobby, of Mantachie; three sons, John D. Harlow and wife, Rita, of Mantachie, Bobby Joe Harlow and Ray Harlow, both of Shannon; one brother, J.V. Hood and wife, Evalie, of Collierville, Tenn.; a special granddaughter, Chelsea Harlow of Nettleton; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Bruce Cornelius of Mantachie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dooley Harlow; three sons, Edward, Sammy, and Larry Harlow; one daughter, Sandra Bennett; and two brothers, Allen Hood and Roy E. Hood; one granddaughter, Sondra Harlow

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
