Louise Wallis

Baldwyn - Louise Nolen Hipps Wallis, 84, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at her home in Baldwyn after a sudden illness. She was born in Union County September 10, 1926, the daughter of Guy and Willie Hanson Nolen. She was raised in Matheston where she finished high school. She worked in retail sales for many years and also sewed for the public and took care of children in her home. She enjoyed sewing, waltz dancing, being around her cats, and spending time sitting outdoors in her swing with her family She was a member of Eggville Free Will Baptist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Gayle Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard Wallis of Baldwyn; her children, Kathy Fountain (Harmon), Leona Ramey (Terry), and Robyn Poppelreiter (Tony); her sister, Marie Rouillier of Mobile, Al.; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert L. Hipps who died July 29, 1997.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Ramey, Jeremy Poppelreiter, Jacob Poppelreiter, Harmon Fountain, Terry Ramey, Tony Poppelreiter.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
