LOUISE G. SWEAT
Saltillo ? Louise Gurley Sweat, 89, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born in Corinth on March 5, 1924 to Orlando and Bess Martin Gurley. She along with her husband, Raymond, owned and operated Tri-State Wholesale Florist for over thirty years. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for over forty years and is currently a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Rick Brooks officiating and Dr. Eldridge Fleming. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include her two children, Rev. Joel Sweat (Nancy) of Saltillo and Deborah S. Blaylock (James) of Guntown; five grandchildren, Jay Sweat of Saltillo, Christy Phillips (Kirk) of Saltillo, Cary Sweat (Melinda) of Richmond, Virginia, Matt Blaylock (Stacie) of Hattiesburg and Beth Anne Warren (Kavin) of Guntown; seven great-grandchildren, Bailey Phillips, Reece Phillips, Oliver Sweat, Alese James, Cameron Blaylock, Peyton Warren and Emilee Warren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Sweat; her parents; her brother, Gordon Gurley; two sisters, Bertha Scott and Vernice Orman.
Pallbearers will be Matt Blaylock, Kavin and Peyton Warren, Jay and Cary Sweat, Kirk, Bailey and Reece Phillips.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the funeral home.
