LOUISE S. HODGES

Tupelo - ERA LOUISE SMITH HODGES, 82, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A Lee County native, she was born May 28, 1924 to the late Curtis and Wilma Troupe Smith. She was owner of Louise's Kut and Kurl for 47 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and traveling. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew her as Mama Lou and Moo. She was a member of Gloster Street Church of Christ more than 60 years.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gloster Street Church of Christ with Minister Chad Ramsey and Minister Joe Connell officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan L. Key and husband, Monte, of Saltillo; her son, John E. Hodges and wife, Linda, of Saltillo; four grandchildren, Shelley Key Russell and husband, Derek, Robin Rodgers and husband, Jerry, Dr. Tracy Hodges and wife, Tara, Andy Hodges and friend, Debra and her children; five great-grandchildren, Matt Rodgers, Drew Rodgers, Peyton Hodges, Isabella Hodges, and Foster Hodges; two sisters, Ione Wester and husband, Sam, of Pontotoc, and Anita Stanford and husband, Bobby; one brother Lamar Smith, all of Saltillo; her devoted and special friend, David Monaghan Sr., of Plantersville; her caregiver, Janice Robbins; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Nubern Hodges; a daughter, Dianne Hodges; and a brother, James W. Smith.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Hodges, Andy Hodges, Jerry Rodgers, Derek Russell, Terry Smith, and Frank Long,

Honorary Pallbearers will be the elders and the deacons of the Gloster Street congregation and her Sunday School Class.

The body will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the church.
