TUPELO - Lottie Sue Stevens, 87, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Creekside Manor. She was born June 18, 1930 to James Oscar and Siddie Potts Stevens in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Lottie Sue spent her early years in Saltillo. Her family and friends described her as a woman of faith who thoroughly enjoyed writing poems and gospel songs, singing and playing her guitar and piano. When she was younger, Lottie Sue could be heard singing and playing those songs with her sisters at church and on the radio. She also worked at Reed’s and Blue Bell.
Survivors include her son, David Stevens (Kathryn) of Saltillo; sister, Ruth Brown of Dorsey; granddaughter, Heather Payne of Arizona; and great-grandchildren, John Payne and Taylor Griffin.
The family of Lottie Sue Stevens would like to thank the staff and residents at Creekside Manor and Legacy Hospice for the loving care and support that was received.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, August 14 at Fellowship Center with Dr. Mark Thornton officiating.
