LORENE PATTERSON Saltillo - Edith Lorene Patterson, 81, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at her residence after a long term illness. She was born in Mississippi on July 12, 1930 to George Walter and Lillie Cooper Hignite. She was a seamstress with Lucky Star for many years and retired after twenty years of service as an LPN with The North Mississippi Medical Center and the Women's Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Saltillo where she often kept the church nursery. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, cake decorating, crocheting gifts for others and attending garage sales. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012 at The Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues in Saltillo. Burial will be in Euclatubba Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, George Thomas Patterson(Reba) of Mooreville and Robert Wayne Patterson (Elaine) of Saltillo; five grandchildren, Mitzi Vance (John), Georgianne Douglas (James), Emily Lauren Patterson, Lee Fowler (Amanda) and Heath Fowler (Angela); seven great-grandchildren, Cayla, A.J. and Jeff Vance, James Jr. and Haven Douglas, Rori and Rianna Fowler; five bonus grandchildren, Dan, Susan, Patty, Joe and Sam; her special niece, Judy Miller, special aunt, Alma Crabb; best friend, Jean Sullivan; brother-in-law, Rayburn Gentry, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas J. Patterson in 1976; three sisters, Helen Gentry, Virginia Overton and Mary Jo Armstrong. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
