LOLA VAN KITCHEN Tupelo - Lola Van Kitchen, 91, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Tupelo. She was born October 17, 1921, in Corinth, to J. E. and Bessie Van Austin Trimm. She worked a number of years at Play Craft in Saltillo and later, she worked many years at Day Brite Inc. She was the widow of Rev. Troy Kitchen, who died November 26, 1996. She enjoyed fishing and was known for her outstanding ability to express her opinion. She was a member of East Heights Baptist Church. A private family service will be held at W.E. Pegues Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Alexander of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Tammy Van Roaten (Rev. Tim Roaten) and Kelly Alexander (Melissa) both of Tupelo; four great-grandchildren, Timothy (T.J) Roaten (Anna), Travis Roaten and Brandi and Jordan Alexander. She was preceded in death by her parents and was the last surviving of seven siblings. A gathering for friends and family will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Monument Drive Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Flower Fund at Priceville Baptist Church, 713 N Feemster Lake Rd, Tupelo, MS 38804 or Monument Drive Baptist Church, 405 Monument Drive, Tupelo, MS 38801.
