BALDWYN - Lois Estes Hankins, 87, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at the North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Tupelo, the daughter of the late Jesse E. and Mable Lene Ray Estes. She was a homemaker. She loved quilting, sewing, embroidery and needlework. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Springhill Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Saltillo with Dr. Ken Anderson officiating. The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors.is in charge of arrangements
Survivors include two daughters, Emogene Gibson and husband, Robert, of Saltillo, and Betsy Beasley and husband, Dan, of St. Augustine, Fla.; two sons, Lawrence Hankins and wife, Linda, of Booneville, and Paul T. Hankins of Tupelo; 10 grandchildren, Luke Hankins, Joseph Hankins, Robert Gibson Jr., Janet Lois Bristow, Denny Beasley, Carmon Reed, Randall Beasley, Paul Hankins Jr., Angie Caldwell and Marsha Hankins; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Green Hankins; two sisters, Lorraine Scott and Louise Alexander; two brothers, Carl Estes and Elvin Estes; one granddaughter, Judy L. Barnes; and one great-grandson, Jason Edwards.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Saltillo Chapel.
