Tupelo – Linda Carol Spencer/Stewart, 59, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. Linda was a long time resident of Lee Co. She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Sept, 2 1956 to Sue Steele Baker and the late Elmer Steele of Fulton. Linda was raised in Fulton MS where she attended Fulton High School until her senior year then graduated from Tremont High School. Linda was the owner of Spencer’s Meat Processing Plant in Mooreville that was built with her ex-husband Jim Spencer. She also owned several local restaurants that catered to the local population until 2012 as well as Spencer’s Speedway in Verona, MS in the late 80’s early 90’s. Linda thoroughly enjoyed cooking for others and would often stay open late to serve those in need and was known to not charge those who couldn’t afford their meal. Linda took pride in the family meat business developing a great reputation for her family’s famous sausage. Linda really enjoyed spending time with her two precious grandchildren, and enjoyed riding motorcycles with her close friends.

Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo. Services will be held at 2 p.m.  Saturday, December 12, 2015 at W.E Pegues, Tupelo. A small graveside burial will follow in Fulton at Mount Pleasant Baptist Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Landon Spencer of Plano Texas, and Adam Spencer of Mooreville. Mother, Sue Baker of Fulton. One sister, Patti Mutter (Timothy) of Hamilton, Alabama. Two brothers, Ricky (Kim) and Jackie Dale Steele of Fulton. Three grandchildren, Oliva and Alex Spencer of Mooreville, and one baby on the way. Closest friend who was more like a sister, Mary Estes of Mooreville, along with many other family members mostly from Itawamba Co. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Doug “Grizz” Stewart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kim Turner, Harold Vinson, Eric “Tiny” Hughes, Doug Hughes, Ted Wood, and J.E. Marcy.
