Dogwood Hills - Linda Kay Gaskins, 59, died Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at her home after an extended illness. A native of Atalla, Ala., she was born January 24, 1949 to Guy and Blanche Morris Butler. Raised in California, she moved with her husband to this area from San Diego 22 years ago. She was the office manager for Nichol's Saw Service the past 12 years. She loved cooking, home, and taking care of her three pups. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Dr. Rick Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Falkner Cemetery in Tippah County. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, John Gaskins of Belden; her mother and step-father, Blanche and Jack Devers of Corona, CA; two brothers, Michael Butler of Riverside, CA and David Butler of Corona, CA; Four step-children, Sheri Torelli of Riverside, CA, Teri Bennett of San Clemente, CA, Julie Lawson of Scottsdale, AZ,and Jay Gaskins of San Clemente, CA; and five step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Guy Butler.
Pallbearers will be members of the St. Luke Food Pantry Volunteers.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
