Mooreville - Linda Barnes Brazile, 59, died Monday, April 7, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born April 16, 1948, in Tupelo to Katherine Ruff Barnes and the late James Monroe Barnes. A longtime resident of Mooreville, she graduated in 1966 from Mooreville High School. She worked several years in the Lee County Tax Collector's Office and served as the coordinator for the National Council on Alcoholism in Tupelo. She also taught piano for many years. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing the piano, and was a longtime member of Allen Chapel United Methodist Church.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Sammy Washburn and Rev. Smith Whiteside officiating. Burial will be in Gilvo Cemetery.
Survivors include her three sons, Shane Snipes and wife, Lorie, of Cochran, Ga. and Nat Snipes and wife, Nikki, of Florence, Ala., and Scott Brazile and wife, Pyar, of Tupelo; one daughter, Connie Braseth of Oxford; her mother, Katherine Barnes of Mooreville; two sisters, Stella Jean St. Romain and husband, Jerry, of Covington, La. and Judy Crosby and husband, Larry, of Mooreville; a sister-in-law, Gola Lundy and husband, David, of Mooreville; six grandchildren, Taylor, Frankie and Brandon Snipes all of Cochran, Ga., Tyler and Brandon Brazile of Tupelo, and Bailey Braseth of Oxford; nieces and nephews, Kay Crosby, Niki Cannon, Kathy St. Romain, Kevin St. Romain, and wife, Kelly, Melissa Andrews and husband, Kevin, J.C. Adams, Brittany, Dana, and Dakota St. Romain, Jessica Andrews; and special friend, Melvin Westmoreland of Mooreville
.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Monroe Barnes, her husband, Curtis Brazile who died March 17, 2003, and her brother, Grayden Ruff Barnes.
Pallbearers will be Terry Richey, Jeff Roberts, David Horton, Ralph Braseth, William Leslie, and Willie Shumpert
Honorary Pallbearers will be David Lundy and Bill Raburn.

Visitation will continue Wednesday noon until service time.
