Guntown--Linda Joyce Baker, affectionately known as Sissy to many friends and family, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Princeton Medical Center in Birmingham after a courageous battle with cancer and then Covid-19. She was born December 6, 1964 in Clarksdale to Lewis and Glenda Moore Stacy. Linda worked 25 years for Regions Bank in Tupelo before her health began to fail. She was a member of Word of Life Church. Linda loved holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed decorating, cooking, and all the preparations for family gatherings centered around these special times. Linda was also a coupon queen! She knew how to find a deal and make it even sweeter with a coupon. She was a beautiful soul inside and out. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Glenda Stacy of Searcy, Arkansas; two daughters, Jessica Stewart and her husband Brandon of Tupelo and Kristen Bailey of Guntown; four grandchildren, Seth Stewart, Cody Barneycastle, Jennifer Bailey and Addie Bailey; her sister, Melinda Flowers and her husband, Johnny, of Searcy, Arkansas; and her brother, Billy Stacy and his wife, Cynthia, of Ward, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Stacy.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Valley Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Herndon officiating. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the church.
