Carolina Community- Levis Wade King, 77, died Monday, October 11, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born October 1, 1933, in the Carolina Community of Itawamba County, to Archie Clay and Myrtle Lamb King. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy where he served aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown. He was a retired Route Salesman for Anderson News Company. Fishing, gardening and spending time with his family were some of the things he loved to do. He also loved spending time with the Carolina Methodist Church Gathering Group. He was an avid Ole Miss football and Atlanta Braves fan. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Rod Borders officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth Acker (Donald) of Saltillo and Charlotte Harper (Charlie) of Vero Beach, Flordia; two sisters, Myrlene Dill and Colleen Hitt both of Hatley; one brother, J.C. King (Wanda) of Mooreville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Carol King; one sister, Eloise Waddle, two brothers, James Harold King and Dallas King.
Pallbearers will be Glenn McGee, Bobby Kennedy, James Stringfellow, Tommy Kemp, Dewayne Westmoreland, Brain McCord, Chuck Redwood, and Andy Redwood.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Dr. Ray Wilkinson.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the funeral home.
