LESTER NIBLETT Tupelo - Lester Oris Niblett, 83, died Saturday, February 22, 2014, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was born August 7, 1930, to James Dewitt and Jewell Whitehead Niblett. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. For many years, he was a mechanic for Aircap Industries until he retired. He was a faithful employee who never missed a day of work. He was an experienced gardener and was very proud of his produce. A celebration of his life, with military honors, will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Mr. Sammy lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Martha Helen Niblett of Tupelo; one step-son, Billy McAnally of Tupelo; one son, Jerry Niblett; three sisters, Mary Bowen of Houston, Texas, Jewel Dean Wigley of Brandon, and Alice Mae Cockrell (Ronnie) of Magee; four brothers, B. E. Niblett of Baldwyn, Buzz Niblett of Wheeler, Thomas Niblett of Fort Worth, Texas and Pete Niblett of Wheeler; and a host of nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Niblett; and one sister, Ruth Ann Niblett Hathcock. Visitation will be 4p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the funeral home.
