Lenard Williams
Tupelo/ Eggville Community - Lenard Williams, 60, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born January 10, 1957 to Elmer and Jettie Williams in Saltillo, Mississippi.
Lenard married Tammie Trexler October 21, 1994. He was a "jack of all trades" in his professions as a mechanic and a truck driver. Lenard loved his grandchildren, with much of his time spent with his little buddy, "Ozzy." He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting antiques, working on his tractor and tending to his vegetable garden until his health declined. He was involved in a hunting club and restored weapons and vehicles, including a 1968 Camaro. Lenard was known as a man willing to lend a helping hand to a friend, with his final act of kindness being an organ donor.
Memorial service will be 5 p.m. Monday September 25, 2017, at Mooreville United Methodist Church, 737 Highway 371, Mooreville, Mississippi 38857 with Bro. Eric Stanford officiating
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Tammie Williams of Tupelo; six children, Francis Wood (Drew) of Peppertown, Matthew Williams, Sr. (Jonna) of Tupelo, Kari Fortenberry (Matthew) of Fulton, Gessika Fennell (Steven) of Mooreville, Trish McCuller of Tupelo and Ethan Williams of Tupelo; grandchildren, James "Ozzy" Wood, Kacen Williams, Matthew Williams, Jr., Noah Williams, Sarah Williams, Tyler Fortenberry, Nova Fortenberry, Sam Fortenberry (expected in December), Bryson Pullum, Justin Pullum and Faith Williams and her mother, Lilly; five brothers, Jimmy Williams (Dorothy) of Eggville, Buddy Williams (Alice) of Saltillo, Thelbert Williams (Lori) of Eggville, Mike Williams of Eggville and Nathan Williams (Denise) of Eggville; four sisters, Margie Parmer (Robert) of Eggville, Katie Roberts (Garry) of Tupelo, Grace Jones (Danny) of Greenwood Springs and Cleo Hurley (Raymond) of Eggville; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jordan Hunt.
Lenard was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Tanner and her husband, Aubrey; nephew, Tim Tanner; and mother-in-law, Shirley Hattaway.
