LEN "L. R." MOORE Carolina Community - Len "L. R." Moore, 71, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit after a sudden illness. He was born August 13, 1943 to Obey Jewell and Carrie Carter Moore. Len loved his family especially his grandchildren. Len was a salesman from Nesco Electrical for 38 years before retiring in 2012. He was Baptist in faith. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. Len enjoyed fishing, gardening and participating in his grandchildren's lives. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors with Rev. Buddy Smith and Joe Fowler officiating. Graveside to follow at Tupelo Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Betty Moore of the Carolina Community; one daughter, Tonya Lundquist (Troy) of Becker; one son, Benny Hogan (Tammy) of Kennett, MO; one sister, Laverne Smith of Branson, MO; three brothers, Tom Moore (Dean) of Mt. Home, AR., Joe Moore (Joanna) of Jackson, TN. and Gary Moore of Branson, MO and four grandchildren, Johnathan Hogan of Memphis, TN., Leah Hogan of Kennett, MO, Chase Tyra of Carolina Community and Trey Morgan of Hatley. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carol Warren. Pallbearers will be Mike Wilson, Barry White, Eddie Lomenick, Mike Willis, Len Blanton, Bob Gatlin, Scott Neuhaus and Sammy Henderson. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
