Lazette Metcalfe Miller

August 26, 1916 — April 30, 2009

Palmetto - Lazette Stone Metcalfe Miller, 92, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident of the Palmetto community, she was born August 26, 1916, to Dr. Clyde and Willie Gandy Stone. She was a homemaker and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed sewing, and spending time with her many friends and family. She was a member of Palmetto Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lamar Metcalfe and Bill Miller

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Palmetto Cemetery with Rev. Robert Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Palmetto Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, John Lamar Metcalfe (Carol) and Clyde Metcalfe, all of Palmetto; four grandchildren, Annalisa Potts (Ric) of Memphis, Johnny Metcalfe (Janice) of Pontotoc, Melissa Metcalfe and Melinda McKnight of Palmetto; six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Katie, Megan, Sarah, John, and David; one sister, Maxine Tullos of Jackson; one brother, Max Stone (Nettie) of Palmetto; and a sister-in-law, Irene Stone Briscoe.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lamar Metcalfe and Bill Miller; her parents, Dr. Clyde Stone and Willie Gandy Stone; her brothers, Clyde Stone, Woodrow Stone and Bunyan Stone.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Metcalfe, Ric Potts, Joe Spencer, Joe Davidson, Tom Cox, and Max Lynn Stone.
