LAPEZ "PEZZIE MCANALLY
Belden - Lapez "Pezzie McAnally, 81, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an brief illness. A Mississippi native, she was born December 23, 1924 to the late Joel Anzley and Flora Holcomb Scott. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. "Pezzies family was always the most important part of her life. She spent much of the last twenty years dedicated to helping raise her granddaughter Lauren and for the last eight years she has worked side by side with her daughter to make the family restaurant business a success.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Ken Pollock officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin Walton, and husband, Dr. Billy Walton and one granddaughter, Lauren Oaks,all of Tupelo; three sisters, Nan Elliott, Yvoone Smith and husband Ron, and Jett Smith and husband James; two brothers, Gerald Scott and wife, Irene, and Mac Scott; one sister-in-law, Bobbie Scott, all of Tupelo; a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Scott; one brother-in-law, Elton Elliott; one sister-in-law, Jeanine Scott; and one special nephew, Terry Scott.
Pallbearers will be William Riley, Gary Scott, Ronny Smith, Donny Smith, Dave Williams, Lane Scott, Scott Riley, and Kevin Scott.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the funeral home.
