L Stacks

March 14, 1941 — April 10, 2008

Ballardsville " L.C. Stacks, 67, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born March 14, 1941 in Tennessee to the late Luther Lee and Annie Lou Gray Stacks. He grew up in Blue Springs and later in Itawamba County. Because of his career in contruction work, he and his family lived numerous places throughout the United States, prior to returning to the area where he lived in the Ballardsville Community since 1977. For a number of years, he was as an electrician for Brown and Root and later worked over 21 years for Jesco. He enjoyed watching old western movies and spending special time with his three grandchildren. He was a member of Ballardsville Baptist Church.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Roger Franks and Bro. Thelbert Hill officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Betty McKissick Stacks of the Ballardsville Community; his daughter, Kimberly Stacks of Columbus; his three sons, Marty Stacks of Guntown, twins Tracy Stacks and Stacy Stacks both of Saltillo; three grandchildren, Chelsea Stacks, Connor Stacks, and Cooper Stacks; three sisters Ruby Dunaway and husband, Pete, of Saltillo, Jewel Parker and husband, Jr., of Mooreville, and Betty Floyd and husband, Sammie, of Mooreville; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Will T. Stacks; and a granddaughter, Kylie Stevens.

Pallbearers will be Billy McKissick, Jerry McKissick, Kenny Keith, Bobby Christian, Tommy Stacks, and C.G. Franks

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Wallace, Milford Justice, and Bobby Irwin.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
