KIT POSEY Tupelo - Kit Posey, 84, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at her home in Tupelo. A Brownsville native, she was born June 26, 1932, to Walter and Lillie Mae Parham Banks. She retired from teaching at the Tupelo Public School after 25 years of service. She loved her family and cherished time spent with them. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Don Wilemon officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Ed Posey of the home; one son, Kenneth Posey (Kathy) of Houston, Texas; two grandsons, Joshua Posey and Christopher Posey all of Houston, Texas; one brother, James Banks (Lillie) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; four sisters, Mary Williams, Maudine Averette and Joyce Lyles all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Barbara Knight of Morganton, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Wayne Junkins of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Judy Junkins; four brothers-in-law, Harold Williams, Allie Averette, Robert Knight and Jessie Lyles. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to service time Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in her honor.
