Kent R. Johnson, Sr.

BOB JOHNSON Saltillo - Kent Robert "Bob" Johnson, 67, died Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Community Hospice, Darlington Oaks in Verona. He was born in New Jersey on December 31, 1944 to William Edward Johnson and Helen Fay Trimmer. A graduate of Somerville High School, he then went on to University of Mississippi where he graduated with a Masters degree. He was a teacher, counselor and VA stress management counselor. He taught K-12 and coached in schools throughout Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. A veteran, he served in the United States Navy and served aboard destroyer's in the sixth fleet as well as well as an eighteen month tour of duty in Vietnam on River Patrol Boats. He enjoyed Ole Miss. football, fishing, cooking and his dogs. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors in Tupelo is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Dottie Johnson of Saltillo; two sons, Bobby Johnson (Paige) and daughter Avery of Convington Louisiana, and Kevin Johnson of Starkville; one brother, William Johnson of Starkville.
