KENNETH HANSON Tupelo- Kenneth Warren Hanson, 90, died Monday August 13th, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House. He had been a resident of Tupelo for 11 years living at Traceway Retirement Community with his wife of 64 years, Margaret, who died in 2010. They met while Ken was stationed on board the U.S.S. Ken was a PhD horticulturalist who directed the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station from 1963 - 1984. During this time his help was instrumental in the creation of the Missouri wine industry. In retirement, Ken and Margaret again indulged their love of travel to Europe South America and the Far East. Wherever they lived the church was an integral part of their life and they considered themselves blessed with their friends in Tupelo. Ken is survived by four children, nine grand-children and one great-grand-daughter. Memorial Services for Kenneth Hanson will be held on October 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church.
