Kay Edmonds
Starkville - Elvie Kay Edmonds, 67, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at her home. She was born April 19, 1950, to Lonnie Ervin and Elvie Christene Dunn Edmonds. She grew up in Longview, outside of Starkville. Elvie taught an Adult Basic Education for many years in Starkville at the J. L. King Center. She was a member of Soul Winning Church, Starkville. She enjoyed sewing, plastic canvas work, spending time with family and watching television.
Survivors include her children, Donna Johnson (Willie ) of Starkville, Lynette Randle of Starkville, Jannie Roberts (Andrea') of Waterloo, Iowa, Dominic Ellis (Roderick) of Starkville, Regina Edmonds of Starkville and Clara Frierson (Steve) of Philadelphia; 31 grandchildren and nine great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Ervin and Elvie Christene Dunn Edmonds; brother, Otis Glenn Edmonds and sister, Betty Lue Dykes; fathers of children, William F. Gazaway and John E. Patton.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Bell Chapel Cemetery in Starkville with Pastor L. C. Rice and Minister Tyrone Townsel officiating.
