Kay Mckee Bishop TUPELO - Kay McKee Bishop, 55, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at home after an extended illness. She was born on July 31, 1961, in Tupelo to Charles and Ruth McKee. Kay graduated from Tupelo High School in 1979 and received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Mississippi State University. She and Randy were married for thirty years. Kay was passionate about helping others and was an employee of the Tupelo Public School District for 23 ½ years. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. A celebration of Kay's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Lyndie Bishop Were, Kay's daughter, will speak on behalf of the family in her memory. Visitation will be at 11 am until the service begins. Her pallbearers are Judge Ken Coleman, Dr. Kelton McClinton, Stanley Reedy, Rob Coleman, Pat Sneed and Tommy White. Survivors include her husband, Randy and daughter Lyndie (Eric) of Dallas; her brother Jay McKee (Kim) of Tupelo; sister-in-law Diana Funderburk (Danny) and mother-in-law Geneva Bishop; aunt and uncle Judge Ken and Patsy McKee Coleman; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Her parents, Charles and Ruth McKee, father-in-law, L.D. Bishop, and grandparents, preceded her in death. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring and loving staff at Faith Presbyterian Hospice and UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
