Kathy Ann Schaper Vandevander, 62, died unexpectedly Friday, May 31, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven. She was born in Pana, Illinois December 21, 1956, to Kenneth Jean and Marilyn Brackett Schaper but has called Tupelo home most of her life. Kathy loved spending time with her family, church family and friends and enjoyed fishing and trips to the beach. She was an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Corey Vandevander and his wife, Nikki of Saltillo; grandson, London Pannell of Saltillo; mother, Marilyn Schaper of Tupelo; twin sister, Kim Estess and her husband, Joe of Tupelo; two other sisters, Linda Schaper of Marshville, North Carolina and Sherry Meharry and her husband, Tim of Haymarket, Virginia; five nieces and nephews, Brian Estess and his wife, Jessica, Valerie Donnell and her husband, Kirk, April Vinet, Jessica Jacobs and Megan McFall and her husband, Nick; and several great-nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father; Kenneth Schaper.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday, June 3, 2019 at St. Luke United Methodist Church.
A memorial service honoring her life will be 12 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob Gill officiating.
