Kathy Northrup, born on November 18, 1960, in Tupelo, Mississippi, passed away on February 15, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center. A devoted wife to her beloved husband, Darrell Northrup, Kathy cherished her family with all her heart. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was spending time with loved ones, embarking on new adventures, or embracing the beauty of nature. Her love for traveling and camping took her to many wonderful places, where she created cherished memories surrounded by the great outdoors she adored.

Above all, Kathy’s greatest passion was horses and horseback riding. From an early age, she found solace and happiness in the saddle, developing a deep connection with these magnificent animals. Whether riding through open fields or caring for her horses, she found peace and fulfillment in every moment spent with them. Her love for the equestrian world was more than a hobby—it was a way of life that reflected her adventurous spirit and unwavering passion. Kathy will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and love for both family and nature.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 15 years, Darrell Northrup of Baldwyn; mother, Nell Ernest and her husband, Eugene of Louisiana; two children, Chad Miles of Tupelo, and Michelle Kennedy and her husband, Shane, of Ripley; two step-children, Keisha Edwards and her husband, Jonathan, of Tupelo; Kayla Thompson and her husband, Chris, of Pontotoc; six grandchildren, Gavin Kennedy and his fiancé, Allison Alsup, Brittin Kennedy, Ethan Edwards, Emma Edwards, Hayden Thompson, and Peyton Thompson; and sister, Kelly Tam of Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Gary Bacon; and stepbrother, Terry Ernest.
