BIRMINGHAM RIDGE - Kathlyn S. Martin, 92, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Daniels Nursing and Health Care Center in Fulton after a lengthy illness. She was born Jan. 20, 1914, in the Birmingham Ridge community to Joseph P. Sullivan and Minnie Smith Sullivan. She was a graduate of Tupelo High School and attended MSCW for three years during the Great Depression. She was a retired employee of Central Service Association of Tupelo and a member of Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church. She loved ballroom dancing, playing bridge, Rook and especially her family gatherings. She was the widow of Wallace Keith "Jack" Martin, who died in 1955.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in the McNeil Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann M. Epting and Sam of Nashville, Tenn.; one son, Jack Martin and Shannon of Birmingham Ridge community; two sisters, Ruth Hutchinson of Pontotoc and Mary Frances Sullivan of Jackson; four grandchildren, Jaclyn Martin Wilburn and John of Senatobia, Stephanie Martin Sutton and Tim of Wesson, Judson Epting and Nathan Epting, both of Nashville; one great-grandson, Caleb Sutton.

She was preceded in death by one brother, John L. Sullivan.
