Kathleen Thomas Doyle

West Point - Kathleen Sheffield Thomas Doyle, 84, died Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at Fondrens Personal Care Facility in Pheba after an extended illness. She was born February 2, 1923 in Montpelier to the late Frank E. and Edith Lee Box Sheffield. She was a 1942 graduate of Siloam High School. After graduation she moved to Washington DC and worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation as one of the secretaries to J. Edgar Hoover. She returned to West Point to marry Willie Estle Thomas and worked for Bryan Foods as a bookkeeper until she retired. Until her health delcined she remained very active in her church, Siloam Baptist Church, and helped raise and support children of missionaries to Algiers.

Graveside Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens in West Point with Rev. Mark Cayson officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur C. Doyle of Washington DC; her brother, William A. Sheffield, Sr., CPA, and wife, Annie Jean, of Tupelo; two nieces, Rebecca Sheffield Palmer of Tega Cay, S.C. and Tracey Sheffield Morton of Tupelo; four nephews, William A. Sheffield, Jr. of Tupelo, Richard Kyle Sheffield of Hilton Head, S.C., Mark Alan Sheffield of Mantachie, and Jackie Robinson of Mantachie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Willie Estle Thomas.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
