Eggville - Katherine E. Fountain, 65, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a short illness. A Meridian native, she was born February 26, 1946 to Robert and Louise Nolen Hipps. She was a member of Eggville Free Will Baptist Church where she served as the church organist for the past 10 years. For the past two and half years, she worked for The Sanctuary Hospice House as an L.P.N. Animals held a special place in her heart, especially her cat Snookiums and her Chow Jake.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2011 at Eggville Free Will Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald Gann officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Harmon Fountain of Mooreville; four daughters,Beth Jorgensen of Mobile, Alabama, Dena Bond of Vero Beach, Florida, Tina Adams (David) of Fort Pierce, Florida and Monica Taylor (Jarred) of Vero Beach, Florida; two sons, Robbie Watford (Tanya) of Niles, Michigan, Josh Melton of Fort Pierce, Florida; two sisters, Leona Ramey (Terry) of Eggville and Robyn Poppelreiter (Tony) of Saltillo; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Horton, Terry Ramey, Caleb Ramey, Tony Poppelreiter, Jeremy Poppereiter and Jim Creason.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2011 at the funeral home.
