JULIE DUKE HOLCOMB Tupelo - Julie Duke Holcomb, 54, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital. She was born October 7, 1960, in Baldwyn to Melvin Duke and Peggy Barkley James. Julie graduated from Baldwyn High School in 1978 and attended Northeast Community College where she received her Associate Degree as a Laboratory Technician. She has been a real estate agent for 25 years and currently at Crye-Leike. Julie was a great mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her job and reading in her spare time. Her generous heart led her to help others in any way she was able. She was a member of First Christian Church Services will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Eddie Wilhite officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Survivors include her father, Melvin Duke (Debbie) of Tupelo; mother, Peggy James (Ed); daughters, Sydney Batty (Justin) of Lafayette, La. and Madison Holcomb of Tupelo; granddaughter, Avery Batty; sister, Janet Alexander (Don) of Belden; brothers, John Stacey Duke (Jentri) of California, Nic Duke (Elizabeth) of North Carolina and Matt Duke of Tupelo; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffery Duke. Pallbearers will be Barry Springer, Emile Petro, George Holcomb, Jim Nichols, James Matthews and Don Alexander. Visitation will be 6:30 - 8 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Tupelo, 1590 McCullough Blvd, Tupelo, Mississippi, 38804.
